The reputation of Blue Coat Systems, a company whose Web filtering and network monitoring equipment turned up in Syria last month, has taken a further hit after Canadian researchers revealed that its gear has also been used in Burma. A research center at the University of Toronto released evidence on Wednesday that shows Blue Coat devices were deployed in Burma to filter and monitor the Internet. Internet scanning tools and field researchers in both countries discovered 13 more Blue Coat devices in Syria and strong evidence of the company's equipment in Burma as well.
